Hi All, he forums have been great and have helped me a ton. Now What i would like to know is can i buy better bulbs and use them with a different kit? Basically what i did is buy a 3k yellow hid conversion kit for my fog lights but am not totally satisfied with the color of the bulbs. I had originally bought this kit from kbcarstuff.com and now that i have them installed i was thinking of changing just the bulbs to the V-Led hid bulbs that are 3k yellow. Will the color change any with a better product? Thanks

Also with the stock hid lights i believe i saw someone say stock was 4300k. Can i change them to 8000k just by switching the bulbs or do i need the full kit?

Using a different brand/bulb won't really change the color a whole lot, just the brightness. If your looking to go more yellow you might just want to cover the housing with film, which will also have the affect in daytime too.

You can easily just get a new bulb and swap it out (headlights are easy to access and change). You need a D4S 8000k bulb which will be purple in color. I would recommend getting a quality bulb since this is the most used/important light on your car. I went cheapish and it's not as bright as it should be, but not dim enough to spend $100+ on new bulbs.

running v-hids 6k low and 6k fogs, the colors dont seem to match well. For the fog kit though, I couldn't be happier with new v-hid kit, though for low beams, Ill honestly say look else where as their tolerance levels seem out of whack for just their bulbs.

6k low and 6k fogs both from vled as well as piaa yellow city lights with autometer yellow bulb covers (too yellow imo just the piaa bulbs looked better)

beam pattern and lumen shot of solely the low beams

imo the fog light kit adds immense amount of brightness to my viewing area directly infront of the car and to the sides. Def makes night time driving much more pleasurable.

Thanl you all for the info. I had purchased the yellow fil for the fogs from Lamin-x and it completely changed the look and i'm very please now. I will post pics soon. I am also gonna try and get the Piaa wege bubs in yellow as well as the high beams in yellow. I think it will look great. Is wire harness melting a issue? It shows those Piaa's as 55w=110w i believe it said.
