I saw an interesting thread on the IS-F section where someone wanted to see the age of IS-F drivers and when they bought their car. Well I want to know the same for the GS! I would think most younger people go with the IS/IS-F over GS, but lets see!
I'll start! So my mom bought the GS first for her but always hinted it for me. After my first year in college she handed it down to me and we switched cars(Toyota Landcrusier, also theirs). I was 19 1/2. Yes, I didn't pay for it, but I have been working with my parents at our business for YEEEAAARRSSS. Now with 2 businesses I pretty much take care of them both, along with baby sitting my younger brother. At 21, now 22, they party/gamble and I stay home!

Here's a poll from a couple of years ago.
Careful drawing conclusions about average age though. The average age of 3GS drivers on CL is going to be waaay younger than the average age of all 3GS drivers, due in part to the fact that we have more time for things like internet forums (and hobbies in general) when we're younger and are therefore more likely to be responding to this thread.
The other factor at work here is the relatively old age of the 3GS and the fact that the '06-'08+ is pretty affordable for guys who are just starting their careers.

im pretty much in the same boat as you...was given an 93 gs300 as my first car when i started driving in '04, when time for a new car in '06 i went for the IS (parents paid for it), my sister started driving they gave her my IS, and it was GS450H for me at 24. I work for my parents at their business, and pretty much handle everything. With the salary i make i can afford to pay for the car. In the end ppl still look at it as my parents paying for it. but with me handling the business they haven't worked since i graduated in '08.

Where are these kids getting money to pay for 20-30K cars with cash... silver spoons, lies, drugs? ... does "paying cash" somehow mean getting a big line of credit or a big loan from mom? Not their own cash? Empty bank account after, no savings or investments? Oh well, it's not my business I'm just surprised. When I was 18 I was in school and what money I earned I had to save for more important things than a fancy car but I didn't get any handouts.
