rear brake caliper issue

I'm getting a nasty metallic ringing sound when I apply my brakes. Seems to only happen when brakes are cool and applied at low speeds. Visual inspection with wheels on revealed nothing obvious. I did notice that I can pull the r rear caliper away from the rotor a little bit. It makes a click sound and returns to its original position when I let go. My other calipers don't do this.
I'm still under warranty and have an appt scheduled, but was wondering if anyone ever experienced the same or had any ideas about cause.
Car has 28k on it.
