try tuging it a little, this will require another to help you, I gotta say this is a first!

look around the reck deck area do you have kids that sit in the back and play with toys? it could be that it is just jammed up.

Thats crazy talk, your better off trying to figure it out yourself $135 to find out whats wrong with it, maybe you should make a video of this!

I have the same problem... Lexus wants $1,700 to replace! I called customer satisfaction and they agreed to split the cost. Still not worth 800 for me to fix it, although I use it all the time. Anyone know where I can get a used one? It looks pretty easy to replace the whole unit.

I had them fix the one in my car (replace who motor unit) because it was jammed when I was looking at it at the dealership. I spoke to the tech that did the job and he said it was a major pain, that you cannot replace it through the trunk but he had to take all of the back seats and rear deck completely apart to get to it.

Needless to say I use the thing very sparingly after I saw how much it would have cost to replace it myself. I'll probably use it more once my kid is born and back there, I suppose, but for now it's not very often I have passengers in the back seats at all let alone ones that I care are getting sunned on.

It's more of one of those, "cool, look at that!" features.
