u could fill it in, sand it and then polish it. a good detailer knows how to do it.

man sorry for your bad luck. i just got a new car and some *** decided to scuff the bumper pretty badly. i really despise people who do not respect other people's property. they deserve a smashing in the face.

Thank guys, No I don't think I've pissed anybody off. Don't know exactly what the predator was thinking. These cars are still pretty and still a target of envy. Just my 2 cents. The quote was from the Lexus dealership here. I was surprised for the pricing here in Amman, Jordan. Apparently labour isn't that high here. I painted the rear bumper few months back and really liked their job even though Im a detail fanatic.

I was thinking since its going to be a complete repaint, I want to keep the stock color as I do like it, but ask them to put a little more clear coat than factory for added protection and shine, Because what I found out is that the Black in my car is very sensitive.

What do you guys think?

I am familiar with pricing back home. To paint at a good place here in Jordan would cost much less than the 2200$ then I got from the dealership. Dealerships cost higher then other place cause they have to follow the International Act of Stealership Code 'IASC'. But 2200 is still to low, so I would do it there for the piece of mind

If you have comprehensive insurance coverage it would cover the cost of the paint job as this falls under the category of "Vandalism". Comprehensive insurance claims do not affect your insurance rates.

Rules are a bit different here. They would cover only 50% of damages if it has been vandalized by a unknown party. Stupid huh?

Yes the rest which isn't bad, but the worst part is the resale value of the car after the respray. I will lose more that 30% of what its worth in the market after the complete respray. Insurance wont accept that loss.
And the added difficulty of selling it.

This is not a dealer recommended shop but the dealer itself with factory paint in toyota marked barrels, no 3m or any other brand
