Alright its not really a rant but more of a question, does anyone know why the ES has the softer dash and the GS has the harder dash, I'm guessing thats the reason we have these dash rattles. Anybody!
I'm in an ES loaner right now too. The dash in that thing looks cheap to me, but you're right ... the whole car doesn't creak as much. Then again my car has 9 times the mileage than this brand shiny new loaner.
Driving it, I felt like I may as well have been given a Camry. I was hoping to be given an IS for once as I've never actually driven one (didn't even bother when I was shopping, felt too small to me just sitting in it stationary but I wouldn't mind "experiencing" it), but it's ES every time. :P
i had an ES a few weeks ago. im suprised they gave me one fully loaded. i dont like the interior too much. the dash is just too weird and plain looking. like a giant upside down tear
Biggest difference I've noticed between the ES and GS is the difference in weight.
The GS just feels like a much heavier car.
You sure, I found that the ES was a wallowy boat everytime I turned, I even made a sharp turn and thought it was gonna slip onto the curb Ive done that in my GS and have never felt scared or worried in the ES i was worried.

I drive an IS350 & and ES350, I'd say that my old GS350 was a balance between the two cars.
I would say that the ES350 feels much lighter and rebounds slowly, but smoothly during sharp corners. It's very smooth, but in all honesty, the ES wasn't meant to drive like it's a sports car.
The ES in not an enthusist's car interms of performance. It's a very comfortable highway cruiser.
I think preference between cars really matters whether it's a DD or a weekend warrior. Additionally, they road where you live should be a deciding factor.

oh, you haven't driven a beat up ES350 loaner.
I once had one with only 10k miles. Every panel in the car rattled. It sounded like a roller coaster.

Yeah, the ES's steering appeared to be more power-assisted and more insulated from the road, while the GS is a little heavier and gets more feedback from the road, IMO. ES = comfortable and easy to drive for the 55+ crowd even at slow speeds in parking lots, GS = sportier...
