Trip to the dealer
Yesterday I had to take my car in for a portion of my 60k service, I had the fuel sensor recall performed, plugs replaced, PVC valve replaced, and gas cap "0" ring replaced. I also had my DRL turned off. Monday I was riding my motorcycle and while riding the high force of the wind opened my leather jacket pocket and I managed to lose a set of alllllll my keys, house, truck, Lexus fob, 2 way pager/ alarm remote, so I also had to buy another fob. Thank god I had a hook up!!

I keep my keys ZIPPED inside my pockets when on the bike. :P In fact, I don't know of any motorcycle jacket that is sold without zippers on every single pocket... unless you're using a fashion leather jacket, in which case the first piece of advice I have for you is to get a real one because those fashion leathers are useless and will tear to shreds if it ever comes to actually needing them to save your skin.

jason - let me know where you got your DRL's turned off please? i am having a hard time finding someone to do it. i may have to make the trip all the way up to Rockville to have Kai do it...it would be much easier if Sheehy would co-operate.
also - why did you change the plugs so soon. i have 146k, and have yet to change, though it will be done with the next tune up. i think the recommendation is 100k, yes?

I have a Joe Rocket $400 riding jacket with zippers, the only thing I can think of is maybe it wasn t zipped completely up and at high speeds the wind opened it up. I ve been down before last year as a matter of fact. I stay geared up racing gloves, sidi boots the whole nine. I had a mesh jacket last year and thing looked like a pack of angry dogs got to it when I was done with it. Also my 1100 Shoei saved my life good helmet!!

@Ryan the recommended mileage is 60k for plugs, I'm slightly early at 54 I was supposed to have the whole 60 k done but I sit too low to get on the lift so I have to bring my boards back with me to get my trans and rear dif fluids changed out.

Glad to hear you wear your gear, sometimes I feel like the only person on earth out there in the summer with proper boots, pants, jacket, and gloves (the helmet, thankfully is required by law here...). I do get a little hot sometimes, but I'd rather be a bit uncomfortable than unsafe. I'm also a sidi boot user (and couldn't imagine riding without them), and currently using Shoei X-11 which I also love.
I rode my bike from Toronto to Chicago one summer, and I must have been the only person in Illinois wearing a helmet on my motorcycle.
