Default Navi Screen not SENSORING

hey guys, i haven't got time to do research on the Navi problem, but my cousin('07 2IS 90,xxx miles) and i ('07 3GS 69,xxx miles) has it.

funny thing is, after i heard what happened to my cousin, i start leaving my Navi screen off every time i use the car. I'm not sure if its the heat or what caused it, i doubt its the heat cause my cousin lives in palm springs and i live in SoCal 562 area.
all of my side button works and everything, but i cannot control it on the screen, because it wouldn't sensor my fingers, like the touch screen is gone.

im not sure if this is a rare problem, but i have finally experienced this, i cannot control the climate and GPS.

thanks guys, i hope you guys don't run into this problem.

I've had 2 friends with isx50's have this happen the past couple of months. Luckily they were under warranty, it's a very expensive fix ($2k+)

This is the first time I have heard of this problem, is it only related to 3GS or 2IS or both of them.

This is the first time I've heard the operation of a touch screen referred to as "sensoring", or "sensor" used as a verb for that matter.

Remove negative cable off the battery for about 30 mins, see if that helps it.
