New to this GS430 2006
I picked up a 2006 GS430. Love it. I have a great handful of questions I am hoping some experienced users can help with!
1. What is the parking assist? Is it only a radar to tell me how close I am? Can anyone elaborate on how it works?
2. What is our bolt pattern? I am generally a fan of changing to another OEM wheel, I am not sure what this one is, or what other (LS460? ISF?) wheels will fit it. Actually, I am not even sure what size wheels are on it now.
3. Ipod. really? Really Lexus, no Ipod adapter? This car seems to do litterally everything except have a dang Ipod plug. It has Nav... what are my options?
4. I have the mirror issue where it looks a little 'vintage' or 'speckled' - not like some I have seen, any update on a fix for that?
5. Do I need to update the navigation somehow? I can't find my street, and I am not sure it has been updated. What does that cost, how is it done?
6. Can I play a DVD in the car? (Says DVD, I would assume yes. Do I need to be in park?
Anything else I should know about the car feature wise?
I would not want to go crazy with mods, maybe barely lower the car, upgrades OEM wheel, and a very subtle front lip spoiler.
Its great to have a GS again!

Congrats on the 430. I just picked myself up one two weeks ago. It is a great car. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3, yes you can play dvd's it needs to be in park with e brake on, Im not sure about your mirrors but mine are clear. The whole navigation thing I'm still a little fuzzy on. We have the older generation nav in our 06 if I'm thinking right. I also couldn't find my street either but could find my girlfriends which is fairly new unlike my street which has been established since the 20's. The nav override didn't work for me so I couldn't put addresses in while moving. The wheels are 18x8 up front and 18x8.5 rear I do believe. Hopes this helps a little and sorry none of the info isnt in order.

The parking sensors are just like what they sound like, they help you by telling you how close you are to something.

As 06ausiecar said 5x114.3 and you have 18" if its the GS 430
3. Ipod. really? Really Lexus, no Ipod adapter? This car seems to do litterally everything except have a dang Ipod plug. It has Nav... what are my options?
As anybody will say the best option is the Vaistech best apple iPod connection through navigation and it keeps it OEM.
4. I have the mirror issue where it looks a little 'vintage' or 'speckled' - not like some I have seen, any update on a fix for that?
Yeah do a search there is supposed to be a TSIB, as long as it is still covered under warranty
5. Do I need to update the navigation somehow? I can't find my street, and I am not sure it has been updated. What does that cost, how is it done?
Yes you can upgrade by updating the DVD it is $199 for it but it may not update your address but yeah it usually is good to upgrade, depends on what version you have in there.
6. Can I play a DVD in the car? (Says DVD, I would assume yes. Do I need to be in park?
Yes you can play DVDs while in park, if you wnat to use while driving you need to do a bypass
