Ya but will you be out all day in your car while it is *constantly running* ?

Maybe I didnt make my point clear, instead of driving 50 miles without turning the car off, really i think its its based on a constant running time since mine came on while my car was at a complete stop and idle.

The place where I travelled to was no where near 50 miles, but after sitting in a parking lot with the car ideling for some time, the light came on.... this has happined twice now.

So i just figured out both times it happined i drove about 25 miles, then kept the car running idle when i got to my destination for at least 45 mins when the warning light came on, which equals about 1.5-2 hours of constant running time.

Most people would not leave their car running for that amount of time unless actually driving, therefore they assume its based on mileage since its the only way most could accumulate 1.5-2 hours of constant running time.

im not saying your wrong but its been discussed several times that going over 50 miles without sensors will trip the light also.

I can confirm that in my car, the TPMS are not installed on my aftermarket setup. I can also confirm that I have been driving for over 8 months with no warnings! I have driven short, long ( all the way to Saudi Arabia ), below 50, above 50.... you name it I have done it!

I will ask the local dealer about this... it does seem to me that my car's TPMS is deactivated when the sensors are not present. However.. having said that... perhaps it has something to do with my OEM spare tire which is still in my trunk!

i guess the only way to test my theory is to drive for 50 miles until the light comes on and time how long it took. then reset it, and leave the car running that same amount of time at idle to see if it will come on.

with 91 octane gas at $1.56 per Litre here, i wont be testing this out!

I love Club lexus. I cant tell you how much cash this web page has saved me.

I found my extended warranty information in the GS section. And this TPMS fix was in the IS section.

A Lexus is a Lexus. Something you may be having an issue with. May not be in your model or generation section. But it may be in another.

Imagine what would happen if he had gone to the Dealer. And they told him how to bypass the TPMS system. Or better yet. Sold him the cannister to get rid of the warning light.

Then the car has a tire blow out and crashed.

Who do you think the lawyers would go after?
