2 quick questions them I would like to sign up also:

1. I am not going to bust anyone's chops about the nitty gritty details of color, etc. but these are better than the 2006 GS300 stock right? I have never been that jazzed about the light output of the low beams- they have never seemed that bright at low beams and the dealership "adjusted them" one time for me. I remember getting a Lexus 450h last fall for a loaner and thought the low beams were absolutely fantastic.

2. plug and play? Will I have to move heaven and earth to get to the bulbs or will it be pretty straight forward. I mean do I have to get into the lights to first find out what's there or does anyone know if they will work with GS300 2006 stock. (guys I know I am being a bit lazy about this looking to get quick answers but after the navi kit install the other night my mind is a bit fried regarding researching this.)

thanks everyone. If they are moderately better and not too much of a bear to install will sign up.

sorry, it was the RX hybrid. My bad.

One more question and I hate to possibly take me name off the list but I read in the other posts that jtrue28 kindly supplied (specifically the second one that detailed the plug n play aspect of these bulbs), that if you think the light output with the stock 4300 is bad (in rain for example) then the 6000 will be worse.

I am kinda confused now. I understand the 8000, 10,000 are really more of a coloring thing and less pure white light but I am interested in this upgrade not for looks, but because I don't see that great at night and want as much light as I can get.

Will going from the stock to the new 6000 make it worse, for real? Should I try to get the 5000 vs the 6000? I am banking on the fact that my stock 4300 bulbs are old and not great, and a new 5000 or 6000 will wow me, or at least make it a little better. I dont want to go backwards for some added color.
thanks all.

No I heard that this light output is the brightest and that if you want the looks than go with the garax but if you want somewhat of the looks but not sacrfice visibilty this one is the way to go. coleco

If you go by the numbers, by facts, of course choosing this 6000k bulb will give you less lumens than the OEM bulb.
Less lumens=less light output.

In the end thou, is just personal preference.

By the way, what kind of warranty Nigel gives.....??
Cause I don`t wanna pay big bucks for a bulb that burns out in 1 month for example.
I might be interested in the 5000k version.

Forgot to ask, how long does the bulbs take to arrive? are they in Japan now?

From HIDplanet:

"For one person 300-500 Lumens might be low loss, while for others too much. Generally speaking (based on Philips datasheets) and avg. 4100-4300K bulb (85122) can produce 3100-3400 Lumens, while a 4800K (85122CM) goes down to 2800 Lumens and 5800K (85122WX - Ultinon) goes down to 2400 Lumens. I can assure you that there is a noticeable difference in the output between these bulbs.

If you plan to go at 5000K try an OEM solution (like 85122CM or Osram Cold Blue etc.). You WILL LOSE Lumens, but still you will keep the major quality characteristics of the OEM bulbs. If you chose ANY a/m bulb higher than 4300K you'll be having a blue tinted output (even with 5000K bulbs), plus all the minuses from the lower quality of the bulb (compared to any OEM one). This is based on my personal experience." Quote from a member.

I posted that cause I wanted to know the amount of lumens for each range of kelvins, and it also might serve you as answer.

Hey all.
I would like to remain on the list although I have some reservations and remain unclear if I am going to gain visibility at night (newer bulb, better technology) or loose some visability due to higher kelvin. But I would like to try.

Please note I am requesting the 5000 and not the 6000 if that doesnt mess anything up.
thanks to everyone who answered my questions.
