Front defroster flashes / climate sometimes switches to Celcius??

Front defroster flashes / climate sometimes switches to Celcius??
I've noticed after my last vegas trip (where i used the a/c alot) ...when i turn my car on, the front defroster button flashes for about 20seconds then stops. now, my car only blows teh AC out of the front defrosters, but the vents don't work :/
Also, sometimes when i start the car, the temperature display is in celcius...when i turn the car off and back on, its on Fahrenheit...these problems both started at the same time.
Would a battery reset fix this??
