Good morning:

My warranty runs out in the fall and through reading here and elsewhere I'm informed that it's best to start shopping for the extended one when the car's at about 40k (I am at 35) and that prices vary dealer per dealer. I don't want to pay any more than I have to.

So, has anyone bought or priced one recently and has a line on a good deal? What can I fairly expect to pay as of now? Thanks for any advice, sincerely.

PS to the inevitable Board Police type: I am aware that search engines are my friend, and am asking about current prices. Thanks.

This is the guy that most get their Lexus Platinum from and I too got one from him despite I live up north. Got my 7yr/75,000 miles Lexus Platinum with zero deductible for just over $1,200 from Jerry. Great guy to deal with.

I got mine from troy getrik and greenfield toyota, It was 7 year/100.000 miles zero deductible for 17xx.00. I don't have his information as this was a little while ago but if you research for troy getrik or just troy you will stumble up on a forum with his information. He was suggested to me by one of the clublexus members and he's great.

I called Jerry last week. Nice guy. He quoted $1550 for 7/75k for a GS (Platinum, $0 deductible). I'd be curious to see what he quotes you. When is the $1200 from?

Sorry for the newb question, but when you renew for 7/75K does that mean additional 7/75K from end of factory warranty, or total 7/75K meaning only 3 more years and 25K more miles?

this is where people usually get confused. Extended warranty means it extends your factory warranty. Typical lexus warranty from factory is 4yr/50k. So if you buy the 7yr/75k then yes you get an additional 3yr/25k

I got mine from Troy Dietrich at Toyota of Greenfield in Mass. I actually got his info from another member on the GS forum as well.

I plan to shop around for the best price (was quoted $2150 from my dealer for 8 yrs/75k). The lowest quote I get will be relayed to my dealer. If they can match/beat it, I'll get it from them. If not, they lose, because I'll have any future warranty work done there regardless.

We got ours from Troy Dietrich in Greenfield, MA. My local dealership quoted me $3,525 for the 8 yr/125k Platinum warranty with $0 deductible but Troy (413-772-0989) sold it for $2,890. $635 saving. Another dealership in state quoted even higher. I was told the min. price was regulated within the state so no other dealership could sell it cheaper so we had to go out of state. It was a quick & easy purchase. Warranty is honored anywhere in the country. Hint: Toyota dealerships can sell a Lexus warranty too.
