Default $2,500 and nowhere to spend it.

While doing some Spring cleaning this past weekend, I came across three vouches to apply towards the purchase of a new Lexus (forgot I had these). Two vouches from Lexus (totaling $2,000 from last year's engine recall) to expire in October and one from Longo Lexus ($500) to expire in December.

$2,500 to spend of other people's money and no good logical reason to replace my '07 GS350 (26,700 miles). I can apply all three vouchers only to the purchase (or lease) of a new car, they are not transferable and can't use any of the vouchers for service or parts.

I'd be tempted for a new GS or LS if they were entering their second model year. Otherwise,...

Maybe you can ask if you can use them as a deposit for pre-ordering a 4GS.

I'd be nervous about Lexus doing the 350 in the 4GS and then upgrading to 370/380 size engine the following year...a la 3GS. Otherwise, a deposit would be a good idea, if they would allow that.

I will not buy the first model year of a car. Besides, I wouldn't commit to any purchase that is many, many months (if not a year+) away.

Has anyone used their Lexus voucher (received due to engine recall last year)?
