Greetings All-
Just registered today and been poking around a bit. Before I spend an afternoon at work searching for answers I thought I would ask the general consensus on 60k service for a 2007 GS350. Are plugs a good idea?
Up here in Northern Virginia one dealer gave me cost of $845 and another of $569. Ya think something is off here? Second dealer said plugs not required so they dont quote with them. Yes I know manual states do them and if having issues with way it runs I should go ahead and do em, right?
Also, what aftermarket HID lights produce best results? Heck I dont even know if mine has them now! Visibility is so poor I would hate to think so.
Much appreciated and forums look great thus far!

get a complete list of items they are going to perform on the car. seems like changing the plugs is one of them. there is no fixed list for 60k / 90k services, a lot of times dealerships create their own list and shuffle items-to-be-done around, so you have to go from that direction
i believe all 3gs has hid, someone correct me

Welcome to CL!
Yes, plugs are supposed to be changed at 60k miles. Personally I would absolutely change them.
I'm only at the 30k mark, but I also got wildly different cost estimates from two different dealers for the 30k scheduled maintenance on my '07 GS350. One dealer wanted $351, the other $615!
Like Henry said, different dealers may add or shuffle items around, so be careful to do a thorough apples to apples comparison. You might just want to ask for a quote on the items specifically listed in the scheduled maintenance log. Anything above this is probably just padding.
Since my dealer just did a free multipoint inspection on my car for an unrelated issue, that knocked off all of the inspection items I needed for my 30k. I had my tire installer rotate the tires since that is a free service for the life of the tires. Everything else I did myself, which I was able to do thanks to the DIY'ers here. If you think you might want to tackle this yourself, mmade22 posted a fantastic DIY on the 60k scheduled maintenance here:

between 90k and 120k services, if follow manufacturers guideline, it would be 1200 and 900 respectively. he said a lot of customers complained that 90k service was so expensive and they lost some customers. but techs found out that some items at 90k might still be ok and stretched it to 120k. so they changed the items done and prices became about 1000 each time. funny enough, people "felt" better and they retained more customers.
just an example why dealerships might play around with the numbers a little
