Hit a guard rail on the freeway at about 70 mph. Still unclear to me as to why the steering wheel air bag did not deploy but the car held up really well on the inside. I will more than likely end up in another GS..

sorry to hear that, at least you are okay.
If the knee air bag deployed, doesn't that mean the airbag sensor (at least the front sensor) detected the impact? I thought those two air bags always worked together
Did you buy the car used? maybe you should check the airbag inside the steering wheel to make sure it's in there and/or connected.
I've seen people with aftermarket steering wheel covering up the airbag light with an electrical tape in the gauge.

Sorry to hear, i still remember like it was yesterday when my wife and son got into an accident that totaled my IS. Looking at my mangled car and how the car was designed to take an impact, I was sold on Lexus. Glad your ok.

Glad you're ok. But if your head and chest were hurting then that could have ben prevented if the airbags deploy. If the car did what its suppose to do at the time of the accident then thats a different story. Just like the run away Lexus last year, Toyota never really looked at the issue till a whole family died.
