Default LS430 versus GS430 and GS350

I have driven my 04 LS430 to 140 k all totally trouble free miles. I have the Premium edition with Smart Access. Looking for something new...The GS430 has variable air suspension. Is it as probelmatic as the Air Suspension of the UL430 models and costly? The 303 HP v6 GS 350 came out in 2007 with AWD? Is the AWD dependable? Basically the platform and suspension is the same in the 07's just the V8 versus V6 difference? I assume the GS series is sportier compared to the LS430? I drove a 300 something once(ES) as a loaner that was like a Avalon and it was a huge step down compared to my LS.Thanks in advance, Warm

No there is no problem with the variable suspension, but it is not the same as air suspension. The AWD GS is reliable and has not had any problems. The comparison between a GS and LS is like comparing apples to oranges, the ES would be the closest thing to an LS which you have already stated but a GS will have a sportier feel to it as it is a sports driven car.

Thanks the LS forum is ripe with folks talking about 1500 dollar shocks per side to replace for the adjustable suspension on it. Is the GS variable suspension different then? It is an option?
The AWD if dependable then?
Does it have a pass through for skiis from the trunk? Thanks again for the quick reply

The GS isn't an Air shock its a variable adjusting shock and its replacement cost is around $350.00 plus labor per shock... It's standard on the 430... Yes the GS does have a pass through from the trunk.

+1 and yes the AWD has yet to have a problem on my friends GS there are no major malfunctions. Its a solid car, aside from the rattles.

I would stick with the 04 LS430... You got the widest projector beam out of them all. Getting a GS would be a downgrade.
