Just broke down at the waffle house a few minutes ago
went to waffle house at 4am to get something to eat before giong to bed. came back and the car wouldn't start. Worse then that I couldn't shut the damn thing off. I had to hit the power button 30 times or so to get it to shut off. Long story short i had to call a cab, pay him to jump me off with one of those boxes and the car started. Seems the battery ran down but how? I didn't leave the car running. Is it a bad battery?
I have had hell of problems lately, my tint I just got done is scratched on 2 sides of the windows and they have to redo, I had to go back 4 times to get wheels and tires worked on, this moding stuff isn't going right and then I broke down. Anyway of chekcing the battery to see if it needs to be replaced go to autozone or what?
Also how do you shut the car off if the battery isn't good enough, there is no key you can take out. And the power button lit up red instead of green

I once had a similar situation but fortunately for me it was parked in my garage. Turned out to be a bad battery. Autozone can check it for you, I think they can do while it's still on the car, usually I take it out and take it to them. Hope that helps.

Although there isn't a TSB on this, a Lexus technician told me its common for OEM batteries in 2006-2008 models to start failing after three years. He classified 'failing' when the batter doesn't have the required (consistent) AMPS per Lexus specs to operate the car (doesn't mean the car won't turn over). I got my battery replaced when I had the most recent TSB attended to.
If you're still under warranty, have the dealer check your battery (there should be no expense). It's a known issue.
BTW, I was in a rush so I wasn't able to engage in a conversation. But the service tech mentioned most of the battery failures are on cars that have either the b/u camera or the b/u camera and parking sensors. Sensors are 2009+ models are supplied by a different vendor.
