Default Screen Setting Question

Hello everyone,
I wanted to see if anyone has had this issue, or if I am doing something wrong, trying to avoid a trip to the dealer. I have an 08 GS350, navi/non ML.

Anyway here goes, I have the auto transition to navigation screen setting option set to no. However when exiting the phone display, rear camera or parking display it does go back to the navigation display.

Has anyone experienced this, it is a known issue. Thanks

what did you have before that Phone display?

I think the map display is like the main display. If I have the trip display > reverse > than it will go back to that trip display.

Sat Radio display. I think I know what might be going on. The on/off setting maybe more of a timer than a toggle. I am going to do a quick test, but i think when it is set to on, the display will automatically go back to the nav/map display after a certain amount of time. When disabled the active display, SAT for example, will stay on until I either place/receive a call or use backup camera etc...

I believe you are right, PetinPA. With the newer models, the display stays where you had it last; even after phone calls, backup cam, etc... I found this out when I needed a loaner vehicle while mine was being worked on. I better start saving my money now!

Did a quick test yesterday. I set the auto transition to Nav to on. I went to the Sat display, after a couple of minutes it went back to the nav/map display. I then set it to off and brought up the SAT display. It stayed on SAT the rest of my drive until I pulled into my driveway. As a neared the garage the Park Assist display came on, when it switched it switched back to the map display not the SAT display.

So it does appear that the setting is a timer and the display always defaults back to the map when it switches.
