Exclamation Lexus "We would like to bring a GS coupe"

http://www.insideline.com/lexus/gs-3...350-coupe.html

As originally linked by spwolf, the article is above. This deserves its own thread, could a GS coupe finally come to the market?

Makes perfect sense to me and goes with my proposal and what others have stated
IS c
GS c
LS c

Along with the SC and LFA.

If Ben J. Mitchell, Lexus' product planner manager has his way, the GS Coupe will happen. "I'd like to do a coupe," he told Inside Line. "We're really trying to increase the emotional qualities of our brand. We want to emphasize exterior styling and dynamics." According to Mitchell, Lexus is at the moment involved in a "fairly active study of coupe opportunities."

According to Mike Michels, Lexus' external communications vice president, the brand does want to expand its lineup. "Lexus has aspirations to have a full model line and global reach," he told Inside Line during the same conversation.

I definately would be interesting in a Lexus coupe. I know it's a very few of us our there but I love coupes. Truthfully if Lexus offer a big body coupe right now I probaly wouldn't be driving a CL550.

We need a real coupe w/ glass roof ala new ford mustangs roof. or the sky view roof seen on the 2012 SLK's.
The Lexus IS-C isn't a coupe it's a heavy convertible that looks like fail.
Less convertibles more real performance coupes

i voted no, but not "entirely"

i love lexus to have a coupe based on the gs platform again. but keep it the sc. different styling, different features. don't do a gs-c that's just based on the gs. that creates some more diversity and capture more market.

This makes about as much sense to me as an LFA sedan.

Make it rattle-free and I'd definitely consider - might trade my '10 BMW Coupe for it.

I would only buy it if it were a GS-F and under 65k. Anything at 70 or above you might as well buy a used GTR with little mileage or save a little more for a new GTR.

ok ok if it had 500plus HP and ran at 4.2 0-60 and under then yeah maybe 70k tops We wouldnt want to upset big brother LFA numbers of 550hp and 3.6 sec 0-60 for $3583473476098734908534985 dollars

I certainly don't understand your reply and would apprciate an explanation.

Here's why I think Lexus should build us a coupe.

- BMW and Benz, direct competitors of Lexus have coupes. Since these cars seem to be doing well there is a market for them.
- Many of us feel a proper sport/grand tourer comes with 2 dorrs.
- Many of us are large sized people who would prefer the extra room usually associated with luxury coupes.
- Many of us believe coupes look better than sedans.
- Variety is the spice of life.
- Lexus seems to be trying to create a more sporting image these days.
- Did I already say that coupes look better than sedans.

I'd be happy if Lexus made a more attractive SC with options for power and a fixed roof. I really think they should make both SC and GS coupe.

I say no! the Gs has always been a 4 door mid sized luxury sedan. If a coupe is what you desire Lexus makes a couple already leave the Gs alone.
