Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm more leaning towards the GS as well (and hoping to be 350 if we can find one in her price range).

I actually just sold my 2005 Acura RL Tech/SH, to get a 2006 GS300. I had the Acura for 4 years, and only had a minor AC issue during the whole time. In my opinion, that is the best car you can get for the money- AWD, Fast, Dependable, All the "bells & whistles (except no seat coolers & no AUX input). Those two things were the only issues that bugged me, other than that I loved the car. I had the A-spec front lip & suspension kit on it, & wheels but you are pretty limited as far as aftermarket goodies. That is a main reason that I went with a 3rd Gen GS. I used to have a 2nd Gen GS, and loved it, so I was comfortable with buying another Lexus. You can find an RL cheaper, and if she doesn't want to mod it much, I would say do that. If money is not such an issue, I would do the Lexus. I did not get as much out of my RL as I was hoping, so I got a 2006 GS300, instead of the 350. There was about a $4-5k price difference. I am actually happier, because after I started looking, I realized the GS300 had much better gas mileage, and I do alot of out of state driving. I got an AWD model with Nav, Back up camera, rain sensors, heat/cooled seats, Mark Levinson, with 95k miles for under $20k out the door. I feel that was a really good deal, and so far I am happy with it. Not that I wouldn't love a 350, but I'm more concerned with gas mileage than speed. It's a little slower than the RL was, but rides alot better too.

I just bought a 2006 gs300 awd a couple of days ago, and I love it! Very smooth, handles great, but i notice the difference of the brakes. It doesn't really respond as quickly compare to all my other cars(s2k, civics), I really have to step on it hard to have it stop completely. but overall its a nice car, and i have yet to try out the gs350.

I bought my wife a 06 GS300 AWD a month ago. It was certified used everything except ML audio awesome car and a warranty for another 50K miles. It gets great fuel economic and does everything she needs. It took three months to find it and a 4 hour drive to get it, buy she loves it and at end of the day that's all that matters.

I just bought a 06 GS300 a week ago. It's Matador red, tan interior, ML, Navi, Backup camera, etc. I chose it over the 07 350 because of the price and gas mileage. I bought it for 22k with 70k miles on it, while the 350's were about 5 grand more, and when I weighed the options, the car looks the same. I love my car.

You can get an '07 with 38k miles for $21k with navigation... See link below:

Also, neither the '06 or the '07 come with an AUX input, but the generation 5 navi gives you more options when it comes to aftermarket iPod interfaces... Overall I think you would regret not going with the 350.
If only there were any near that price near me. I would've bought it right away. Been looking for the past 2 months and the prices for some reason seem to be increasing instead of dropping.

I figured with the announcement of the 4GS the prices would drop atleast $3k but I see no change whatsoever.

yeah, seems like the use gs have been going up in prices. I'm also been looking for last month in Texas also. most are asking for too much. my brother in-law brought one 1 year ago for 22k, gs300 2006. today same options everyone are asking for $24k.
