Default Trading In Newer Honda for Older Lexus

I was thinking of turning in my 2008 Honda Civic for a 2006 GS.
I really like the GS, and I've been mulling it over, and I think I'd feel guilty trading in a newer model for an older one.
Does it sounds like a reasonable idea? I know that the Lexus gets worse mileage and takes premium instead of regular, but I really want a GS.

The 2006 GS 300 gets pretty good gas mileage for a big luxury car. Good luck with your choice, I don't think you would regret the GS.

It's what you want and your budget can afford. How many miles are on both cars? What's your necessity with the GS? Are you prepared for Luxury car ownership maintenance?

Um, a little below 80,000 for the Civic, 65,000 for the GS. I think I'm ready for the maintenance. I'm not quite sure how much more expensive it is, though. I picked Lexus for that reason, it's reliable.

Oops, I typed that wrong. About 70,000 for the Civic.

Stick with 08 if you can for the mirrors and other features.

stick with the 06 and get Lexus Platinum Care on it and you won't have anything to worry about...

Unless something big goes, maintenance is not too bad if you don't mind taking it to a Toyota dealership for oil changes and brakes and such. I usually take it to Lexus because I don't have time, but it feels good every now and again to take it to Toyota to spite my dealer (Lexus of Tampa Bay). I hate my dealership service dept.

Excuse my rant... bottom line, the parts are not really that expensive for regular maintenance. Beware of certain Lexus dealerships, they aren't all bad, but some will really try to rob you blind while others will go out of their way to please you.

Lastly, you won't regret the car at all. If you're going to lower it and add rims, stay away from AWD. Get a 2007+ if you can afford it, but I have a 2006 and 2010 and I enjoy both. the 2007 and up have better navigation. If you get the 2008+ you get a facelift as well, though I prefer the 2006-2007.

Yeah, I'm not sure if my local dealership is good. It's the only one for a couple hundred miles. But, I know for a fact that our Toyota dealer is very good. So, I may take the car there when and if I get it.

As for the car itself, I wasn't planning on doing anything to it. Maybe paint it. I'm all about the silver, but all I'm seeing is white and black. I would prefer to have an newer one, though. Get rid of some of that guilt of trading in the newer car. I'm not sure if I can afford the extra $4,000-$6,000 price difference to get a 2007. I know for sure that I can't afford a 2008.

The 2007 are should be close to the 2006, but yeah I agree go for the 2007 at least you get more HP and newer navigation.

Park ur honda next to the Gs and that should help u make up ur mind(I'm not tryna talk trash about ur car). On that note, I'm gonna say welcome to the family in advance!!! Go for it. I trade in my 08 accord EX L 35k miles on it for 07 GS350 full load 58k miles. The only problem with it right now is brake squeak even I already replace the rotor and brake
