Default black roof options

i tried looking for what an SGM GS350 would look like and what the options are as far as black roofs.

either paint it or vinyl wrap. then i saw this video

http://youtu.be/m5H69eMjUXk

never seen someone do a whole roof in this stuff. only emblems and moldings.

sorry dont know how to post the video on here...

I like the paint as well... You can do a gloss wrap, but I the paint blends with the sunroof better.

i can see the advantages of having a painted roof.

as for plastidip before the roof rack...i would do the same.

plastidip doesn't seem to leave too much evidence that it was even there. vs vinyl you gotta take off all the adhesive. i could be wrong though since i have yet to try plastidip.

do not plastidip the roof. plastidip is not a substitute for paint

Just did my first trip long distance. 200 miles, averaged 27.1. Very happy (and relieved) to see much better highway mileage.

between 3 to 5 hundred. toyota 202. known as one of the blackest blacks in automotive refinishing. make sure they use premium water base. would hate to see you rollin with a brown roof when you paid for black

If you do vinyl wouldn't it protect the roof a bit more than if you were to paint it? Also, how would that saying of wearing black will attract more sunlight apply to doing a roof black.

I would think so, just like the 3m clear bra would..and yes, black roof will attract quite a bit more heat than a lighter color. there was a article somewhere about manufacturers recently started using light colored undercoats before the final color after learning that even the undercoat colors will effect heat conduction.
