Hi all,
I'm now at 57k miles and want to change to diff fluid on my '09 GS350 AWD. I checked the manual to see what types of fluid to use in the front and rear diff. The rear diff fluid was pretty clear, but the front was listed in damn near gobbledygook. can anyone explain what type to use in the front/rear diffs? Also, is there an aftermarket fluid that is equal/better in quality to the genuine toyota stuff?
Thank,
Chris

Service schedule calls for it every 68,000 km or something like that. It's a pretty cheap service. I'm pretty sure they use the same exact fluid front and back... it's just gear oil.

Yeah, I began travelling a lot shortly after I bought the car in early '10. I do all the maintenance myself (this website has been extremely helpful, and saved me well over $2k).
I know the manual calls for fluid change at 50k miles. Has anyone had experience with Mobil, royal Purple, etc? Or should I stick with the Genuine toyota stuff?
Thanks,
Chris
