correct, 6 speed is faster. just look at 03 ls430 vs 04 ls430.

regardless, 430 is a smoother ride there is no doubt on that

a lot of 07 gs350 have the same wheels as that on the 430

I meant 350 has bigger calipers then 300.

Gs430 is bulletproof! Ask the the gs350 guys about engine issues valve springs and cam gears. Also wait till we have thousands of gs350's over a 100k might be more issues. The gs430 will go 250k with nothing more then generl maintenance.

Ok here ask me, There is no issues with the engine, valve springs were under recall. No difference was felt at all after it was performed. Cam gears thing happend rarely when starting the car. It did not affect the car nor performance. Its a lexus, as long as you stay away from the first model you should be fine. Get something 2007+.

I was thinking the same thing.
My 98 LS400 was trouble free for 3 years I owned it. I love V-8s, always had a V-8 car since I was 17.
Like I said, if a good deal comes around for a GS350 I will take it, but if a GS430 is around the same price/condition I will choose that one first.

i don't know why no one mentioned GS460. if i were to spend money for a V8, i would pick GS460 over GS430 any day. but of course, as GS350Lexus mentioned, a GS450h would be a good choice (yes, i'm biased )

gs460 (likely 08) will still be quite a bit more expensive than a gs430 (likely 06)

Stormforge i got you're back about gs450h , tbilisi if i had a choice between an o6 gs430 or a 07 gs350 awd i would take the gs350. 2006's have ton of issues, steering, nav screens going blank, ac drains clogged, etc etc. Honestly its the first year of the body, plus with an 07 gs350 u get newer nav, better mpgs and no $1000 timing belt at 90k miles. Also it says you live in NY i'm assuming nyc. You definatly want the awd our winters here are no joke. If u want ill even sell you my 2007 gs350 awd that had all little problems worked out so you can be a happy gs owner .

i had the option. i went with the 350! how much more h.p does a 430 have? how much more torque? how much more gas??? my car had the recall done and thats it! nothing wrong with my car at all. idk why some of you are making such a big deal of a recall. it was solved, thats it. no longer an issue.

Optimized for low internal friction, the GS 350's 3.5-liter V6 engine produces 303 horsepower at 6,400 RPM and 274 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,800 rpm. A new direct fuel-injection system provides much finer fuel-mixture control to improve both power and fuel efficiency. Dual Variable Valve Timing wîth intelligence (VVT-i) acts on both intake and exhaust valves to further enhance performance through a wide rpm range.

The GS 430's 4.3-liter double overhead-cam V8 engine produces 290 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 319 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,400 rpm. Continuously Variable Valve Timing wîth intelligence (VVT-i) ensures excellent low- and mid-range power for easy highway merging. Both GS models achieve the EPA's Últra Low Emission Vehicle (ÚLEV) certification. All 2007 GS models maximize performance wîth a six-speed automatic transmission that features a sequential manual-shift mode.

v-8 has more torque but also weighs more. 07 model gs430 came with some sort of upgraded suspension.

rating difference only.

Big thing for me when I drove both was the better torque at lower RPMS. For me, car had far better feel and sound to it vs 350 although raw performance numbers are virtually identical.

One thing not often mentioned in the 430/350 comparison is that the 430 had a more advanced stability control (VDIM) as well as VGRS.

You can't go wrong with either model, but I knew the UZ engines were known for reliability and longevity.

430 have more ponies than 350. But 430 is heavier so at take off it have a lot more to pull, but it keep accelerating high up the speed. When in motion the 350 won't be able to keep up with 430.

And going by the recalls, 350 have more recalls. The toys in the 430 is a bit outdated though.
