Door Lock Actuatror Motor , replaced now buzzing
Hi guys,
I recently followed the great instructions on replacing the door lock actuator motor to fix my driver’s side door. It worked great at first, and while it is still functional, it is now making a really loud buzzing noise when locking or unlocking my doors. It sounds as if something is stripped, loose, or broken. Although functional, I’m afraid it isn’t going to hold up.
So my questions are, 1) has anyone experienced this? and 2) if it there is a problem with the housing and it needs to be replaced, does anyone have any insight on where I can replace the whole assembly on the cheap?
Also, has anyone tried any of the supposed Universal Door Lock Actuators?
Thanks for all your help!!

It most likely will not hold up. It is the metal coupling that you transferred from old motor to the new one and it is slipping. I have the same problem in mine but it doesn't unlock or lock. I haven't got around to it yet but I am trying to figure out the strongest way to have that coupling stay on the shaft. I am thinking about just spot welding it.

Ahh, that makes sense. I glued the mess out of the housing to seal it up, so I guess I would need to go back through all of that again. The univeral actuators are pretty cheap ($10-$20), so I'd like to know if any of those are worth it, before I go back in.
Thanks for the info. Good luck with yours.
