I've done some research on this intake, When compared to others Looks like the fujita has the best results in HP. I've also heard from other people that it may and has cause a CEL to come on. In this case, I have opted to purchase a K&N instead.

I have done this install on 5 different vehicles and all actual life tests we carried out showed loss in power and performance.
I will never take any manufacturer's words for it! Cone filters that sit inside the engine bay of a naturally aspirated motor.. is a bad idea! PERIOD!

its been my experiance with open cone filters, unless you build a semi air tight compartment for it to keep the motors surrunding hot air from it,its a waste. either than or open a larger hole beside the headlight and get the pipe to go through it and place the filter inside the bumper so it has alot of cool air around it. Metal intake pipes dont really do much justice either, they just get heat soaked and raise intake temps if their is no intercooler.
im shopping for a intake for the gs460 and was considering the toms drop in filter, and maybe some mods to the factory box to get some better flow through it.

I was thinking about getting the Joe z intake pipe for my 06 gs 300. It uses the oem filter box so it has its own area away from the engine. I'm just wondering if the flat black pipe would be better than the shiny aluminum pipe for less heat absorption. Also would a drop in filter have any affect on sound/hp after installing the pipe? Or would it be the same as oem?
