I think the Lexus dealers tend to give the worst offer, compared to other brands. When I was shopping for a new car this year, I checked out MB and BMW too. They offered a much better trade-in value on my old Lexus. In the end I bought another Lexus and sold my old car on a private sale.

Maybe the Lexus dealers just take the loyal customers for granted.

Ask KBB to write you a check. No way your car would sell for 31k. Just an FYI your car is averaging 16,500 at the auctions with similar mileage. Don't want to burst your bubble but the offer is right in line. Just being honest since I buy cars for my friends dealer group. Used car values are going to flatten out in the next few months so if your going to sell now is the time.

They listed my lx470 that week for $40K and it was sold within 2 weeks.
Odd... I sold them my Camry and they were giving me the highest price on KBB. Nobody else came close to offer that.

I knew the offer would be low,but thats LOW. I found it insulting. They would sell it CPO and ask an easy 31k.

For the record,KBB says the car is worth just under 26k on a trade.
you won't get anything close to 26k for your car on trade in. people need to understand kbb doesn't mean that much most of the time

My Lexus dealer has a gray 2007 GS350 with all options just like your car and they are asking $26,000. The car has like 75,000 miles so I figured they got it as trade-in around $19k to $20k. Honestly, I think most of Lexus dealers are smoking crack when listing their used Lexus that they ripped off from loyal customers.

Ask KBB to write me a check? I am not sure what you mean by that.I guess you are poking fun at me.

I did not mean to imply that I could get 31k, but,I know around here Lexus dealers would list it for that.

I was just using KBB as a reference. The dealers around here use Galves(not sure of the spelling) which is much lower.

Do you or anyone else here have an idea of what I can expect on a trade or a private sale?

The thing is prices are fluctuating right now because the new geration is rolling out next year. So our generation's value is only going to drop more than what you plan on.

personally i think if you go private party, maybe you can get around 21-22k for your car max. the only plus of your car is the mileage, which is on the low side. options means nothing on used cars, they depreciate to nothing (i am on the same boat). and the biggest thing with your car is being 06 (number of years) and that it's 300, which got jacked down on price quite a bit by the 350

btw, if you want to unload your car, do it fast. once the 4gs is here, you will take another bath. and also, another 2 months or so, from my sales there will be more new lexus coming back in again. that will start driving down the inflated used car prices

I'm with Mike. I have a dealer. Auction data is showing $16500-18500 for same car as yours. This is based off manheim.com. No way KBB is realistic nowadays. They won't buy your car nor sell you one. People want to buy invoice and resell for retail. Not bursting your bubble either but $20k is pretty much top dollar.

No way was I making fun of you, only trying to help out. I wish KBB would disappear as all they do is confuse the consumer.

This is why I said to sell now if your serious as all used cars are going to take a huge hit in the new few mos.

Good luck you can PM me if you have any questions that I may be of help with. I'm not on the forums much lately.
