I managed to get it on video.
I feel like the cold weather might bring it back.
I have an extended warranty, but not a Lexus one. It's by 'People's Choice" so we'll see if they end up covering it if I choose to pursue it.
If I do try to make a claim, I will definitely post my experiences.

The problem with the oil change fixing the issue is that it will return. The thing with this cam gear issue seems to be that some cars never experience it, while others do....Ive never heard of someone hearing it and then it goes away.
Some of the temporary fixes for this issue for those that are out of warranty have been to 1) add a half quart of oil(seems to help) or 2) do some weird start up procedure each time they start their car(seems to get oil flowing before engine actually cranks).
I would recommend listening carefully each time you start up and see when it returns. When it does return, carry around something to record the noise (I used my iphone), and get it on tape...I went in, played it for my service advisor, and he did not question the issue at all, in fact he asked me to email it to him so he could play it for the tech.
Hope this helps. I waited too long before I decided to address this issue, luckily, I had purchased the extended warranty.
