Does a 2007 GS350 run alot different with 245/55/r17s vs. 245/40/r18 tires?

I like the grip of the 245/40/r18 bridgestone turanza serenity tires that are currently on my 07 gs350. But they ride so hard, and I'd prefer a softer ride. I can probably put on 245/45/r18 goodyear comfortread to take some of the hard ride out. But also wondering how soft a '07 rides with the 17 inch rims and higher profile tires, like 55s. Is it like day and night difference or more subtle?

I'd say a little more subtle and easier on the ride. I feel the same way as you. But 18in wheels looks better

You're always more than welcome to drive otu to the dealer on your next trip to test drive one with a set of 17s!

And last I checked, for the price of the bridgestone turanza's, the Michelins are a bit more comfy

The 45 profile tires then that I'm replacing the 40s with won't rub, will they? Eyeballing it looks like there should be clearance, just wonder if anyone else is running 45s on the 18" wheels.

Did those 45s rub on the standard suspension before you lowered it?

Couple questions with that. You like the ride better with 45s? And is the rubbing a big deal?

I had stock 17" tires on my car, they were runflats and they were STIFF! But they were 225X50X17. I don't think 245X55X17 will fit, but even if they do, your speedo will be way out of whack.

Check this.

no but they look huge and ugly.
and your speedo is not perfect then.

check if you have Bridgestone Turanza GR90 in there, its super comfort. the size that i have,245/40/R18 was not there and they ordered it for me

I don't know about other people but I find it very similar and the rubbing is not a big deal, it usually rubs when I back out of my driveway(steep slope), but other than that hardly.
