I have my eyes set on a used Lexus 450h, possibly a 2008.

It has just a few months left on the manufacturer bumper/bumper warranty.

I have read many posts about buying the Lexus extended warranty and possible sources for that.

Has anyone purchased an after market warranty outside of the Lexus/Toyota warranty?

I'm trying to get the place I might be buying it from to "throw" one in or get one on the cheap and wondering if anyone has had any experience with a non Lexus warranty.

I had a Chrysler warranty on my E55 AMG and it was great, covered everything.

I heard they're hit or miss. You actually already have first hand experiance though. Maybe see who the third party waranty was from on your e55.. or was it from the dealer? I chose a certified pre-owned because I saw a few people on forums having waranty issues when they didn't have a Lexus warranty. This meant I ended up paying a bit more for my car than I would have paid if I bought it elsewhere.

i had one when i had my lexus. i believe the company started with a Z but i cant remember. They were good but there was 100 deductible. i didnt mind though because when i needed to use it, the repairs were in excess of 2k lol.

in all honesty, i would just get the lexus platinum warranty. its pretty cheap, about 1500 and you wont have to worry about anything.
