Default Newbie alert: My GS350

Greetings fellow GS owners! Newbie in the house with my 07 charcoal GS 350. Got her only 2 months ago with 31k miles, fully loaded w/ ML, parking sensors, all the goodies. Obviously I won’t roll stock so here’s what I recently upgraded her with:

1. Megan EZ Street coilovers (with custom spring rate to match as close to stock spring rate)2 inch drop all around, shocks set at level 8 (1-15)
2. Roderick RW3’s 20x8.5 +35 / 20x10 +43
3. Kumho Ecsta SPT 245/35/20 and 275/30/20
4. Medium tint all around by California Tint – Rosemead, CA

SHOUT OUTS:
1. Fender shaved all around by the esteemed: Tony Saggu 818-368-4395
2. TPMS reprogrammed by Glendale Lexus: Free of charge!!! Thank you Michael Ojaghian – Service Manager

The ride: Minor rub in fender liners at full compression, no biggie. Absolutely LOVE my ride. She feels like stock but tighter around corners.

Future/potential projects:
1. fixing that damn jackhammer rattle in my glove due to a likely faulty install from previous owner or dealer of the in cabin filter. ARGHHHH
2. rear window spoiler – on the fence about this one
3. shopping for a nice front lower lip that can accentuate the corners – those damn beemers do this so well.

Welcome to clublexus. You might be a boob but I have questions for you.
I'm looking for coilovers to fix the camber issue well known for the 3GS and other Lexus cars. I never heard of the Megan EZ Street coils. You've had the car 2 months but how long have you had the coils? I want something smooth. Is that what you are getting, a smooth ride? How much are they. I can search for that but decided to ask anyway.

Nice ride. You'll fit in perfectly around here.

Never mind the info about these coils, I already checked on the Megan site. Plus I read some reviews from others with these coils. These aren't for me. The price is cheap but they don't have the pillow ball mounts to fix the camber issue we have. Megan does make another coil that does have the right hardware, though.
I used Tein CS on my old SC but the new model doesn't get much cred around here.

Anyway, good luck with your coils.

Reggie....just an FYI, there is no way to fix camber with pillow ball mounts on the 3GS. It's not a McPherson strut type of suspension therefore has upper control arms. So, having adjustable pillow ***** does nothing for us. To fix camber, there needs to be a way to adjust the upper or lower control arms.

Hey welcome to CL! Couple questions about your coils... What do you think about them so far and what spring rates did you go with?

I don't recall the exact spring rate, but I special ordered to factory spring rate specs. As for the last 3 wks since installing, I love the 15 level damper adjustment feature. Week 1, I started at level 5, thought it was a little to soft on the freeway, led to more rubbing in rear. Week 2, took it up to level 10 and felt immediate firmness, but was sensitive to local driving of Los Angeles "******ed up" streets. Week 2.5 and on: took it down to level 8 and now it feels fantastic. It now really does feel and ride stock with tighter feel on corners. I've had 1-3 adult size passengers and they didn't notice any ride quality changes...even after I told them I lowered my car. These are non car enthusiasts in their 40's by the way, so it's a safe opinion without bias. However, one passenger did detect slight road noise sensitivity, but I chalk that up to 30 series tires.

Warning - If you think you are finished modding, visiting this site would change your mind pretty quickly.

Thx for the tip, as I completely agree. I'm definitely looking to get ideas from this site on what do mod next. Good times to come!!!
