I just bought a 2008 GS460 and am looking into maybe putting in a turbo charger.
Has anyone done this to their GS460?
How much would this cost me and where is a good place to get the turbo charger?

Welcome to CL. Do you have deep pockets? I think you should actually do some searching about this because no one on CL has a boosted 3GS. Sorry to burst your bubble but its most likely not gonna happen unless you do everything custom which I highly doubt.

I just read the thread and that cost by Top Secrets is outrageous. The Japanese are crazy with the mods.

I bought the car from a Lexus dealership down in Florida and the GM mentioned to me that he knew someone that threw in a turbo charger on the GS460 and brought it up to 550 horsepower. He didn't tell me how much it cost but did say that it wasn't crazy expensive.
That's why I was curious to see if anyone on here have done it.
I know i can bring the car to about 400 HP by changing out the intake and the exhaust but I would like to get it up beyond 500+ horses.

Brother, you have a lot to learn. Even though GS460's are rated at 342hp they really dont make 342hp. This applies to all cars, cars suffer from drivetrain loss. Drivetrain loss differs whether the car is FWD, RWD, or AWD. RWD cars suffer from about 15% drivetrain loss so a GS460 will really put aroud 280-290hp to the wheels. A intake and exhaust will not get you to 400hp, probably 300-310hp at the most. Like I said earlier, you really need to do some research. You will not get 550hp out of a 1UR-FE (the 4.6L). Like Stormforge mentioned you should go with the Toms s/c, you'll gain about 50 whp at the most. If you want 500+hp get a Lexus with a 2JZ in it.

the funny thing is i really do want it lmao but the cash you need for that setup is crazy. even if i had the cash i'd just buy another GS lol

turboing a car is not that crazy... importing japanese kits may be, but local shop doing it is definetly possible.
