Video Diagnosis of Check Engine Light - Check VSC light
This will not pertain to everyone so dont think its always gonna be your gas cap. It can be one thing done and just might help if you have this issue.
Well I was out of town for work and my Check engine, VSC light came on. Nothing Changed in Car perforamance just the light came on. So i pulled over adjusted my gas cap and kept trucking hoping the light would go away. Happend to me last year too, and that fixed it. Well it didnt, so i topped off my gas tank and once again tightened the gas cap and light still didnt go off.
Needed to order Brake pads from Sewell Lexus so went ahead and added a gas cap for 13 bucks or so to my order. And also talked to my buddy that has a shop and let him know i would stop by when i got in town. Made it back home a week later installed the gas cap, went to diner and ran a few errands and light never went away. Getting aggrivated to i made plans to head to the shop first thing in the morning.
Turn on the car left the driveway and realized the Darn light went away. Drove to the shop anyway to erase the code history and also played with the Analyzer thingy he has. You can see your history, drive time, oil and fluid temps, rpm, steering angle, Tire pressure as well as air temp in your tires. All kinds of cool things. So i figured i would show the video as i know most of ya go straight to the dealer and dont get to see whats going on. To add if you notice in the history it had the EVAPORATOR EMISSION leak.....not only that but it said "(very small leak)" Thought that was pretty funny....not just a leak or a small leak....but a "very small leak" ...ha ha
Well heres the video
