what could the problems be?
saturday morning, when i was trying to reverse the car out of the driveway, i notice that most of my dash lights was blinking (afs, p/s, abs, triangle light, and brake) and my power steering was stiff. once i reversed it by using my manly power i also found out that my speedometer wasn't working either. can someone help me diagnosis it? i have an 06 gs300 awd without warranty

yeah its super strange. i haven't done anything to the car and got my last recalls done earlier this year. right now my car is at the dealer and they still don't know whats going on because their computer can't recognize those lights. hopefully they won't charge me an arm and leg for diagnosing it

3days has passed and they still don't know the problem is! This is breaking the bank and my black Friday shopping spree is shot. Thanks Lexus for the early Xmas presents.

I believe the P/S runs on electric. That's your clue.

This was the problem with my 2006 GS. The battery was leaking gas that affected the power steering ECU which then set off a chain reaction of computer failure. All steering related items failed and the associated lights lit up, CHECK VSC showed up, CHECK 4WD,........everything but the check engine light. I was able to get the car to Lexus with the lights on and they were able to read the CAN-BUS codes (different from usual OBD coded associated with emissions and check engine light). In addition to my problems, the computer failures basically caused the ECUs to throw up. This in turn caused some "odditiies". My speedometer worked but the temperature guage dropped to C, the light behind the gear selector went out and the outside temperature would read "E".
When the battery was load tested, it failed. It had enough juice to always start the car, but it would heat up and emit a gas that affected the steering ECU and then start a chain reaction of computer related issues. The steering ECU is located directly under the battery case. Lexus is aware that there is a problem with the original Panasonic batteries.
Have your battery load tested and replaced if necessary.
