Got my hid fog kit from xenondepot. Few questions.
Hey guys, so I got the 9006 volt kit from xenondepot for my fogs. This one shop by me said it would cost $200 to install so im just going to do it myself with a friend.
Anyone whos installed it before, can you please answer a few things.
1. did u guys remove the bumper to do the whole installation?
2. Where did u guys hide the ballast, etc.
3. The instructions mention something about reversing the negative and positive plugs? Am I going to have to do this?
4. I think the answer is no but does this kit require it to be connected to the battery?
I know most people say this installation is really easy but ive never done it before. Thanks guys

Check the FAQ and you will find an install thread and a few different ways to install. I did not remove the front bumper on my car.
Just reverse the plugs and make sure to secure them good since the locking tab/clip will no longer work with them plugged in backwards. My suggestion if you have the wire harness for the battery is take one of the extension for each side and cut the wires and just reverse them and solder it back and cover them up really good
The ballast you can zip tie them anywhere really.

+1 on the zip ties. I tied them somewhere higher up to avoid getting wet, weathered, etc.

I just did this today and was expecting about 20 mins a side. Turned out to be about an hour a side. My main problem was that I did not know how hard I could pull on the liner but I ended up pushing on that stuff really hard. Eventually I got it done and did the other side in about 3/4 of the time. I didn't even have to turn the wheel back the other way for the other side it made it really easy to access the 10mm screws (I just used a very short but big Phillips screw driver). I also removed a clip at the top of the fender wall and a few other screws to allow for more room.
To address where to place the ballast, you can put it anywhere. I zip tied it to some metal bar with a few holes in it about 7in above where the bulb goes. My ballast had a tab with a hole on it so it made it easy to zip tie it to the bar. I had my brother hold a flashlight for me the whole time and sometimes helping to pull the liner out of the way. Made things a bit easier.
Oh and to make things easier .. the white wire with the black line is the negative and the green wire is the positive. Seems kinda counter intuitive to me because green usually means ground but whatever. lol

Thanks for all the help guys. I've installed a simple bulb in there before but this is a different animal. I'll be working on it with my friend tomorrow. I'll let you guys know if I run into any trouble.

Wait we have to switch the polarity of connections? So I'm suppose to use the ground as the trigger for my relay harness? I've never heard of this for any car and I've installed quiet a few kits on non Toyota of course.

1. Is this only for your ballasts?
2. And what if I'm using a relay harness that I purchased off of eBay? It uses only one connection as a trigger.
3. And when you say flip it... just turn the plug around and it should still snap in right? Or do I litterally need to cut the wires and switch them?
Don't get why we are reversing polarity.

NYDesi80,
Not necessarily. The main difference between our HID kits is that they come with proper mating connectors that will plug into your OEM headlight wiring so if polarity needs to be reversed you literally have to repin the connector (very easy to do). Many lower priced kits on the market come with generic spade terminals that will insert into your OEM wiring and will require you to use electrical tape to secure them. If polarity needs to be reversed you would just need to reverse the wires.
You cannot simply rotate the connector 180 degrees as the connector will not snap into place. Take a look at your instruction guide as there is instructions on how to reverse polarity.
