Third request.... There are hundreds of threads debating authentic vs replica and there is no answer that is not an individual preference.

THIS thread is for feedback on the kit ice350 is considering.

I understand we all have choices and budgets and will choose whatever we want. When it comes to a luxury item, i buy only AUTHENTIC!

Yea I think only if a patent is placed then its fair game to anyone. I also think the patent holds for so many years and if they changed it x percentage then they can sell it under there name. I could be wrong here

yeah i'm not feelin' the kit either. the fogs look like they came off the latest mercedes s-class and the 3 separate openings kind of remind me of the cloverfield monster (i don't know why but it does). like jtrue28 said, it just doesn't flow together like it should.

I just called Carson Toyota (L-Tuned Parts) to ask about the lips I am interested in. We're talking 3 months wait from Japan.
I just don't have that kind of patience. If it turns out the lip doesn't fit properly, then you're talking another 3 months waiting for another.
That's the main reason a US based company can sell stuff similar to JDM, you get it way faster and cheaper.
That alone DEMANDS consideration. It's an option for those of us with the patience of a kid at Christmas time waiting on our toys.

a good shop will be able to get what you want from japan in a month usually, unless there is a supply problem. 3 months because it is ocean freight, something i haven't used in years. and a good shop can make it fit just fine.

fwiw, all the jdm wheels i have had, none of them took more than 6 weeks from order to arrival from japan. body kits, same thing, if i chose air freight, within a month.

L-Tuned does regular business with Japan, they should know best but your suggestion is worth some thought. I'll ask my techs to give it a try.

Ok guys, it appears we can't constrain ourselves to the topic at hand and want to keep at it with a broader discussion despite several requests to do just that. This thread is closed.

I'll start a new thread this weekend with a poll for replica vs authentic which I will link here. I will attempt to present both sides of the argument and you can present your perspectives there. You've got some time to prep and organize.
