Default Thinking of buying an 07 gs350 awd - opinions?

hey all,

i just sold my 2003 gs300 sport design. it had about 115k miles. i was very happy with the low maintenance costs and the overall quality of the car. i am thinking of buying a used 07 gs350 AWD w about 30k miles. it is a lexus cert pre owned. i will prob decline the cpo warranty but its still been through the lexus cert process.

can i expect the same quality from the 07? i have read some threads regarding squeaks/ rattles, etc...... and are the maintenance costs still relatively low? anything more expensive in maintaining the awd? im hoping to take it toyota dealer like i did with the 2003.

any input and advice is appreciated. thanks!!

I have an 07 GS 350 AWD and I have not had to do anything to it except for the valve spring recall and change the oil. I don't have any squeaks, rattles or anything like that to complain about and I live in a climate that varies in temperature from well below freezing to highs in the 90's +. I think that the power train warranty is 5 years or 75,000 miles so that is something to check on if you are not going to get the warranty.

I would just make sure that I spent enough time putting it throught it's paces for squeaks and rattles and make sure that you are satisfied with the ride and etc... I have been satisfied with mine from an all-around standpoint of ride, quietness, gas mileage and reliability. The AWD system is excellent and really makes the car handle well on both wet and dry pavement. I also applied Dynamat to all of the doors, trunk and etc...to make it even quieter.

I think that where this car gets shunned is that it is somewhat between a sporty car and a luxury car. The handling is not quite as crisp as a BMW and the ride is not quite as nice as an Lexus LS so people that expect it to offer both will be somewhat put off by it. To me, it's a nice compromise because it does everything pretty well, has a great interior, gauges and gets pretty good gas mileage for an 300+ HP AWD sedan.

Dont mean to jack the thread but I can relate as I just picked up a CPO GS350 AWD.
Its a white on black with everything except ML, 35K miles and selling price was $27K + $3K for CPO (They said $3,900 was retail)

Hope that helps

Sounds like a good deal to me!
I would consider the CPO, depending how much they want for it, it might be worth it

I've only had it for a couple of years and I have put approximately 30,000 miles on it. I am going to do plugs and brakes in the spring because it will be due then.
