Exclamation 2006 gs300..help plse

plse someone help, i accidently tap a test light to the yellow ignition wire under the glovebox and it shorted, now my car wont start unless i put it in neutral and i cant turn it off unless i pull a fuse....anybody got any idea wht i shorted out? dont want to take it to the stealership

Can you take a picture of the wire and area were you bumped this wire please.

Im guessing there is a relay on the back of the Push start button module and maybe you shorted that out? Whats weird is that it will work if the car is in N but not in P??

Did you check all of your fuses first? You likely just blew a fuse. I've yet to see a relay go without the fuse first blowing.

its the yellow wire behind the glovebox, yea i chked all the fuse n relay....was using a test light w/ ignition on and tapped into that wire n it sparked...then all the instrumental gauge lights cut off and on again....and cant turn off car

have you checked the fuses in the car and under the hood?

I dont think its a fuse because the OP stated they can start the car in N but not in P. So the push start is getting power or it wouldn't work in N.

you have fuses on both kick panels up front, under your hood, and in your trunk...cant hurt to just double check as that's a cheap easy fix.

If you can start in N and not in P, sounds like a Neutral Safety Switch.

When in P, does the engine crank at all? Or just nothing?

What about dash lights when in P? Getting all that with the radio and stuff working?

took it to the dealer, they saying its the ecu, crap so iuno if its really ecu or neutral safety switch....yea all the light is right and radio and everything works

They are likely right. Either the Power Source Control ECU or the ECM. I've attached a wiring diagram as reference. Gives you a better idea of what the circuit looks like.

they gave me a part #: 8967030010, do you happen to have the location of the part? or how to replace it?

A google search shows me that that's the Power Control ECU. That said, here's a diagram of its location. It should be straight forward plug and play.

thanks alot,...i have a question....so my lil bro told them to go ahead and order the part and do the job, they quoted the part $1,042.80, but we can get it on sewellpart.com for like $636.11, so i called the dealer back they said the cant cancel it, and they gonna keep the car until its done. can they do that.
