Default 2007 GS350 Dashboard Squeaks

Hello CL,

I've recently purchased 2007 GS350. I like the car; however, I've noticed that my dashboard squeaks a lot and that is very annoying. I took it to the dealer where I was told that it would take a dashboard kit and $1100 to permanently fix the problem.

Have anyone here run into the same issue? If yes, please, provide any feedback of how you were able to fix that in a cheaper way. Thanks

I just got my GS430, 2006. Had the same problem on the way back from picking up my car 900 miles away.
I stuck a peace of napkin in between the dash and the windshield , next to defroster as a temporary fix. That took care of the annoying noise. It is a generic problem with these cars from what I read and I was prepared for it. I will fix it permanently with a better material to silence that noise.

I know its a shame, my 98 LSC has less squeaks. But hey, if you want something to be perfect, sometimes you have to work on it yourself.

The dashboard kit they use does get some improvement, but you will just here more rattles in other places after they are gone. :-)

Same problem here!!! My '98 GS400 with over 160K miles had no rattles anywhere... I upgrade to a '07 GS350 and it sounds like it has 300K miles on it!!

I'm very dissatisfied with this car so far... solely for this reason.. A $50K+ car shouldnt sound the way it does with only 40K miles on it!!

My rattles are behind the Navi and somewhere within the front portion of the moonroof... so far my fix has been to just play the music louder...

Welcome to the newer generation Lexus. Every model does it from the rx to ls. Our 2011 4runner has zero rattles but my friends new 2012 scion Tc rs 7.0 has the same sunroof rattle as my Gs at the wind deflector. Bugs the her a lot.

I had the same annoying issue with my 07 GS350. I also had the annoying sun roof rattle.

You used the term "had"

Did you somehow resolve it or trade the car in?

He traded it in.

I am fortunate that my 07 GS does not sqeak or rattle. I did have a squeak in the driver seat but it stopped about 2 years ago.

My wife's 06 GS has intermittant dash rattle. Sometimes it does it, most times it doesn't. It doesn't bother her....doesn't bother me. When I drive her car I turn the music on and don't hear anything but the jams.
Yes, it is a nice car and shouldn't have sqweaks or rattles but I'm not going to fixate on them. I mentioned it to wifey and she felt the same. In fact, I'm not even gonna tell you all what she said about people who complain so much about little things.

It's unfortunate, but rattles are a common feature on the 3GS. Check this thread for a list of DIY resolutions to specific problems:

I purchased black felt form Michaels Craft store. High quality material. Had to squeeze it between the dash and the wind shield in two spots. Worked great for me.
