Hi,
Figured I'd post a howdy here, since I likely won't spend much if any time in the rest of CL.

My wife and I bought a 2006 GS430 in December after a couple month-long search/decision making process (we also had an LS400 a number of years back). We're very happy with the car and it must be the one we were meant to get, since we pretty much were in the buying process on each of the other 3rd Gen GS variants during that time, but all the others fell through. We likely would have been just as happy with a 350, 460 or the hybrid, tho the latter would have taken a bit more to get used to driving The most frustrating "almost" purchase was an '08 460 that was a CPO at a dealer 600 miles from us. Turned out the car had undisclosed damage and should have NEVER been passed through the CPO check (the dealer did pay for our trip...)

Anyway, several stories there but the 430 we got has the MLA, 36k miles on the odo and is silver/black. A number of things I want to do that I've been researching (mostly here) and I'll be posting some questions about elsewhere...

I spent time lurking here and on another forum or two, but you folks look to be the most active and certainly helpful to one another (plus willing to DIY a bunch) -- so I think CL is the place for me...

Welcome Sir!

You will love the car and the members on this forum.

I also just purchased a 06 GS430 in December, I also owned a LS400 3 years ago.

There is a good portion of information on this site, but most of it dedicated to modifying and refining this already perfect vehicle, but this is not due to lack of knowledge, but lack of problems.

Have fun!

Default Thanks!

for the warm welcome (home). We live in the foothills in Norcal and we sold the LS right before we moved up here -- a beaut of a car, but not cut out for this kind of road duty. We thought about a GS series 10 years ago -- finally seeing how perfect it is, particularly with where Lexus has taken the platfrom. Friends have Beemers and MBs, so know what they can do where we live and drive....

It's a Lexus for us and too bad for them not being smarter

The foothills in NorCal? I grew up in Calaveras county. Where are you?

Well that would be Cool (it's 6 miles or so outside of Auburn) -- a bit a ways from where you grew up tho...
