First off, I'm new to Lexus. Drove Hondas and Acuras my whole life before this. Anyhow, was wondering if anyone else has had issues with their HID projectors not being AS bright as it should be? I had a pair of 8000K bulbs from Xenon Depot equipped on my car for a year, those were crap as I could hardly see anything at night so I recently installed the highly praised Garax 6000K. Yet, my lights are still aren't where I need them to be in terms of brightness when compared to other cars I see on the road, hell, even compared to non-HID equipped vehicles. Pretty sad, honestly. Oh and, yes I have the bulbs properly installed and everything. I don't know what else to do it's getting pretty damn frustrating.

well 1 the higher temp you go with hid's the worst the light output is. 6000k though should still be pretty bright and certainly brighter than halogens. i know the GS sucks when it comes to cutoff line with the hids as their not as crisp as some other cars.
any pics of how your output looks?

Well first off congrats!, the Lights in are cars really arent the best, but you need to keep the 4300K OEM bulbs in if you want the best look and visibility. If you want good bulbs you can get the Philips Utilinon 6000k they are pricey or the morimoto 6000k they wont disappoint. hope that helped.

How did you raise it up? I took into the Stealership and the guy said the lights level itself, he had no clue what he was talking about and I didn't wanna argue with 'em so I just left. On here however, I've seen the video of the guy using a 10 inch #3 Philips screwdriver so the guy at Lexus was clearly wrong. I can't find that screwdriver anywhere though.
And to everyone else thanks for your response and insight. Glad to know it's not just my car but sucks that our car's HID system isn't up to par with some of the other cars out there. My brother's TL is probably equipped with a better HID system.
Here's a pic I took off my phone last week after I had the Garax 6000K installed. It looks pretty bright because it's shining on a lil bit of snow but as you can see the beam only extends out maybe 12 ft in front of the car at most.

I have the same issue, but mine do go out a bit further than what your picture shows. I find (and maybe it's just my eyes are getting old) that in general since there is such a sharp contrast between the lit area and just beyond, almost any HID equipped car is a problem for me. I don't need to use the high beams nearly as much as my other cars with good ol' halogens -- the light filters farther up the road.
I'm going to try the headlight adjustment -- never could find if the adjustment works on AFS lights. Anybody know before I attempt this tonight? Thanks!

Yes adjust them up. Helps a ton. The tl does have better light output as I had one but I rather have the Lexus with its decent lights. I raised mine up, not to hard, and soon will be putting stock bulbs in since I hate the 6k's that are in it. My buddies gs350 looks and performs better with stockers. I actually used a socket to adjust mine. Either that or a Phillips will work though.

Thanks guys
So, do you remember is it clockwise or counter for <up> and is it the same for each side? If you don't that's cool -- I'll trial and error it and post that info back here...
