Cam Gear Noise on Startup - Replacement Done
I have a 2007 GS350 which went out of warranty around May 2011.
I was in the dealership for something not engine related, and I mentioned I had this cam gear issue on startup.
My service guy told me that the TSB for this issue extends beyond the standard warranty to 120,000km and that they would do it for me.
It's done! I'm very pleased. My dash rattles are embarrassing enough when I have passengers without having to endure these clunking noises on startup.
If you have this issue, make sure to ask your dealer before it's too late. I'm pushing 106,000km at the moment and if I had gone over they never would have done it for me.
