Just had to widen a bracket hole where it screws in and cut a small bottom part of the trunk backplate to make it fit! If you are capable of removing the rear seats you are capable of this swap. Other ideas I think a 4GS rear armrest would swap in even easier as well as the IS but I'd be worried the IS would be a tad small and look odd but here's you are LS460 armrest in a 3GS my personal accomplishment.
The armrest I purchased had some creases in the leather but can't beat $120 I guess now I have a better looking armrest with matching color wood trim and a storage box!
