Just to give an update on some of the European accesories (prices in Euro's:

roofcarrier, with lock 259,-
Skibox 410 liter 384,-
Bagagebox 380 liter 474,-
skiholders with lock (4 pair ski's or 2 snowboards) 110,-
skiholders with lock (6 pair ski's or 4 snowboards) 124,-
bicyclecarrier (Barracuda) 152,-
Surfboardholder with ?holder 139,-
Boatholder 129,-
Imperiaal 100x95x70 cm 173,-

dealer in the Netherlands would be more than happy to wrap and ship it to the US. Shipping costs around € 225 (estimated weight 10kg), but given these prices, Saris is cheaper (though not lexus.....)

Well it turns out the Saris rack I ordered actually doesn't fit, despite what their fit guide says on the website. I ended up returning it for a refund and just when I thought I was going to have to pay ~$1000 for the Lexus rack and accessories overseas, I discovered that Thule was looking for a GS300/GS430 to test fit their racks on. I drove to their headquarters in CT yesterday, patiently waited while they were working their magic, and two hours later, I was driving back home with a free new roof rack for my car (first of its kind). I also purchased two bike carriers and a snowboard carrier at wholesale, saving well over 50% of the retail price. Overall, I spent a little over $200 for everything when it would have costed around $700+. I couldn't be any happier as my elusive search for a rack and carriers has ended and I'm currently the only 3GS owner with a roof rack.

I know you're jealous and all, but it's ok. Don't hate just because you can't get one.

So since these are "test" racks, does that mean they might not be all that secure, or did they figure out the fit, and all is good? Any word from them on when this might be available to the rest of us poor saps?

They got the fit down perfect after 2 hours of testing out all different kinds of configurations such as the clip type, location and distance between the load bars, etc. I grabbed onto both load bars and proceeded to violently shake the car and the bars didn't budge, so I'm pretty sure they are secure. I haven't actually put the bike attachments on yet, but I'll be using them this weekend. I'll let you know how they work out. As for availability, they are working on putting together a retail kit in the next few months, so keep your eyes open for that.

Yep, especially when I really needed a roof rack, too.
