...Always premium gas. The car drives as it should, I think. Actually, I love the car and I come from a 2gs owned for 8 years.

So, to recap, I got 409 miles with two full tanks on mixed driving. That is far from advertised fuel economy, unless Im misunderstanding something.

Tonight, for example, I drove 1 mile in the city, no traffic at all. the estimated range said 286 after filling the tank. I went to park the car at the garage, and after 1 mile of driving the estimated range went down to 284. Whatever that means...

I get 19.5 mixed driving, 2006 GS 430. Of course I also drive a lil agressive from time to time.

Being new, the engine is bedding in - so keep a close eye on oil level, it's not uncommon for them to require a litre over 6-700 miles.
That said, do inform the dealership who may suggest to monitor fuel consumption as the mileage increases.
Assuming it's not a tight engine, then it's running rich (exhausts very sooty?) which may indicate a faulty AFM/MAF, O2/lamda sensor, or EGR.
If they have a low mileage demo car, I'd see if you can borrow that for a few days, and see how it compares over the same roads you travel.

Today I spoke my the salesperson, not the actual mechanic, he told me its normal to consume more fuel in the winter....
By that much? I doubt it.
Anyway, it's a new car and I'll wait and will monitor closely in the upcoming week(s).

15MPG is pretty bad for a GS350. Even in the winter time. Hope it will get better after the engine is broken in.

i feel something is wrong as well.

I have a 450h which has a mode on the dash screen called "current" which shows your current MPG being used (not sure if you have this setting or not. Cycle through your modes by pressing the display button on the wheel) Switch to that and monitor what happens as you lift, go up hills, accelerate from 0 etc.. May shed some light on things.

Mine is an 08 GS350 AWD with 35K miles, i average 15-16MPG city and around 25 Highway. I don't use the "sport" mode but occasionally have a heavy foot

city can be a killer. The only way to bring those number up is a slow crawl from 0 to 30. In that range cars do like 9 MPG under, what I would call, normal acceleration. A light foot can yeild 15MPG followed by honking horns for you to get outta the way :-)

Well. The car is in for service at a different dealer. The person I spoke with, said that it may needs recalibration. We'll see.
@L8Apex,
The car has the same Current display, and i'll look into it. Thanks for the input.

Still, If they label city driving at 18, I could expect 16, but not 10 mpg.
