sorry to jump on your post, but I too have been reading up on tires. Has anyone tried the Goodyear Eagle tire. It cost about $190 a tire, but I heard its a hard tire so the ride isn't good. Everything I've read points towards the Michelin Pilot or Continental SportTrac, or DW, which are about $300 per tire.
I used to have the Goodyear Eagle tires, they were very hard and loud, drives like a truck, and then I replaced with Falken ZE912, they were super cheap and quite only the down side is they won't last very long! Now I just got Pirelli P7 Cinturato, compare with Falken ZE912.....local Falken more quite than Pirelli, freeway about the same, they both are very quite and smooth! Next time I will try Michelin Super Sport, heard a lot of good things about that tires!!
I will say Falken ZE912 is really good cheap tire for the money if you want quite and smooth ride!!
