I just picked one up here in Chicago (GS460) 58k miles for $25k. I traded in my 04' LS430 with 143k mi. on the dash and gotten back $11,500. I enjoyed the LS430 for the 4yrs of having it, and I was also an owner of a 99' GS300. Truth be told, the 99' is very solid car. Each Lexus has its own special character. Never for a moment should you let a dream car pass you up. If a GS460 is what you desire then I suggest you oughta take hold of your desire. I know I sure did. ***BUT ONE THING NONE OF THESE LEXUS FREAKS ARE TELLING YOU ABOUT THE "460" IN GENERAL FOR 2008, there was a massive RECALL on all 2006-2008 V6 & V8 GS and LS for the engine valve spring. Make sure the work was done by a Lexus/Toyota Certified Specialist. Other than that its a terrific vehicle to have. It loves one thing more than you, and that's Gas. Plus it has a great power punch if you ever feel you want to jam on the accelorator. I like the 18'' wheels and the low-profile tires. Man, what a cream-puff. Also make sure you get anything color other than black. Mine is Mercury Silver, and it shines, with black interior. Black is a good color but washing it up can be a headache although my Lexus Dealership gives me free washes for the life time ownership of the car. Another thing to note, for 2008-2011 lexus only made somewhere around 6500 of these cars for the U.S. so finding mods are a total pain to location unless you know how to read japanese.

I don't think the '06 GS430 have this problem. Last time I looked there were hardly a recall list for '06 GS430.

Very nice.
I paid 22.9 for a 06 gs430 with 69k miles. Like new condition in and out.
You will love the car. It eats miles with ease.
I wish the fuel economy was a bit better, or a bigger tank. But I wouldn't give up v8 sound and power for anything.

I've now had the chance to drive both an 06 GS430 and an 08 GS460. I think they are both really nice cars. The one thing I noticed that was different between the two is that while the GS460 is faster than the GS430, it is also quieter. The 430 had a nice utteral growl to it, whereas the 460 was much less throaty. Has anyone else observed that? Not good, not bad, just an observation.
Also, the ML in the 430 sounded different to me than the ML in the 460. With the settings set the same, just listening to FM radio, the 430 sounded like it had a little more bass. Then again, this could have been because there was something wrong with the ML in the 460. It sounded very tinny, almost as if the sub was not working properly.

I lucked-up on the car at a Saab dearlership. They didnt have many records on the vehicle other than the typical carfax report; but would could anyone expect when going to a Saab dealership looking for Lexus... LOL. I rolled the dice and took a chance with the purchase. It didnt appear to be anything significant on the report such as accidents or anything silly. The recall issue with the "valve springs" had already been addressed with a Lexus Dealership in Atlantic City, NJ. Other than that, like I said the car loves gas. Just so you know, the car seems very typical when crusing at 25mph-45mph. However once your begin to accelorate it picks up speed very easy (8-speed trans). Ooooh, I left one thing out I forgot to tell you.... The GS460 requires a 60k milage service job which Lexus replaces spark plugs and changes the fluids. The 60k mi. service is about $900, and the even better news is you dont have to change the timing belt because the engine is "chain-driven" (Hooray). Also the transmission fluid gets replaced at 100k. So far after looking on autotrader they are only 49 total GS460's available.
Im looking for the FSport Exhaust and its tough to getting information on whether it will fit on the GS460. I am really convinced it will... but I wanna get some more feed back on who is using it.

There is another thread where a few members put the F-Sport Exhaust on their GS460 and it fits perfectly..
