Turn Signal too quiet (shhhhhh...)
I'm the proud new owner of a 2007 GS 350 AWD. I love almost everything about the car (my biggest complaint so far is the Nav system, but that's a thread for another day). The one little quirk that I wish I could fix is the quietness of the turn signals. When I'm cruising I'll pull the turn signal to switch lanes or merge onto the freeway and maybe because of the way my steering wheel is positioned, I forget it's on until I go to change lanes again... Is there any way to make these turn signals louder, a chime setting I could adjust or maybe even something after-market? Thanks!

I don't usually go beyond the initial spring loaded (if, in fact that's what it is) feature of the turn-signal stalk when changing lanes or merging. After 3 or 4 blinks, I'm about where I want to be and simply let go of the stalk..

Yeah that's one thing I liked about the wife's ML350, depress slightly (just till you feel the detent) then let go, and the turn signal will blink three times, just long enough to change lanes. My Chrysler 300C did it too, probably due to their merger with M-B for those few years.

Sorry Travis, but I'll have to echo SRT's facetious comment - if you can't remember to cancel the signal manually, then you maybe shouldn't be driving.
Either that or turn the radio/etc off when you're performing such a manoeuvre.
Driving is not difficult, and if your attention is solely focused elsewhere in such a situation, then you need to question your ability to multitask.
Forgive me for not massaging your ego by blaming the car's design or saying "there, there", but I honestly believe you need to think hard and seriously about how you drive.
The situation as outlined, consists of......mirrors, signal, mirrors, blind spot check, manoeuvre. That's a 5-6 second process, which once you've executed, results in cancelling the indicator, with or without accelerating or braking.
Get into the habit of doing it, practice it somewhere quiet, and soon enough it'll become instinctive you won't even be aware of going through the process.

I agree. The turn signal is very quiet and I dont think it can get any louder. Also, the way I drive, the turn signal light is behind the steering wheel I dont see it most of the time. Even my 98 LSC has a reminder to shut it off.
Minor problem thou.
