vaistech firmware update adapter
purchased a used vaistech. however it has an older firmware version. vaistech wants 49.99 for a usb adapter

Does the new firmware provide something you can't do without?
If not, stop worrying.
If it does, either talk to them on the phone to see if you can cajole them into a goodwill deal or else sell the unit, and buy another with the up to date firmware.
